Remembering Together, REFLECT, Community Day, Shine, Bute
Posted by CHARTS
Join Luke Winter for Remembering Together, REFLECT, Community Day at the Rothesay Promenade on Saturday, 17 August. Help Luke celebrate the unveiling of three new sculptures accompanied by a stunning light show. Silver Linings is a series of community-created sculptures made from mirrors and adorned with words from Bute’s' vibrant island community, including those undergoing the refugee process; these sculptures combine hopeful messages with beloved local places that have provided solace.
These sculptures invite public participation, encouraging visitors to photograph each other and write their own reflections. Inspired by Rothesay's rich history as a beloved seaside destination, the sculptures encourage playful interaction, serving as a nod to the joyful, shared experiences that characterise Bute’s island's heritage and help reflect our collective memory.
Running Order:
8.30pm Sculpture unveiling
8.50pm Sunset
9.00pm light show starts
10.00pm Light show ends
