Over the past 18 months, members of Kintyre Link Club have explored the art and social history collections at Campbeltown Museum and worked with The Argyll Collection.
Together with CHARTS curator Ros McKenna and artist Rhona Taylor, members have taken part in a series of creative workshops, developing new ways of looking at, interpreting and responding to artworks.
The project culminated in Reflections, a co-curated exhibition bringing together the group’s ideas, perspectives and creative responses across three locations in Campbeltown: 3 Longrow (shopfront), Campbeltown Seafront on Hall Street, and Campbeltown Museum.
The exhibition opened with a special event at Campbeltown Museum, bringing together members of Kintyre Link Club, project partners and the local community. The celebration included speeches, cake and heritage awards recognising the group’s contribution to the project.
For Rhona Taylor, the project has been an opportunity to work closely with the Link Club community and explore the possibilities of connecting people, collections and creativity.
Rhona has also written an article for Art UK, which is available online at Art UK.
