CHARTS Wild Escape Family Fun Day at Campbeltown Museum
Posted by CHARTS
CHARTS in partnership with LiveArgyll, are participating in the Wild Escape hosted by the Art Fund. We're joining with 100s of UK museums and schools to celebrate UK wildlife and creativity.
Join us on Saturday, 22 April, for a family fun event celebrating the fantastic creative responses to the local wildlife collection at Campbeltown Museum in honour of Earth Day.
As part of The Wild Escape project support, Muriel MacKaveney and lead artist Kirsten Millar have engaged local schools to explore the wildlife collection at Campbeltown Museum. This included inviting three local schools to explore Campbeltown Museums' taxidermy collection with talks from local historian Angus Martin and Master’s Ecology Student at Glasgow University Nancy Stewart. Each school was given a creative pack that is still available for download at CHARTS, and materials to create a creative response to the wildlife that captured their imagination.
CHARTS now invites you to help us celebrate the wonderful work created. Join us from 11.30am to 2pm at Campbeltown Museum on Saturday, 22 April, to see the special edition magazine featuring all creative responses from the Wild Escape, ranging from painting to poetry created by each school pupil.
CHARTS Wild Escape Family Fun Day at Campbeltown Museum is free to attend, and no booking is required. We are also running a family Bird Nest Making Workshop with artist Lorien Silvan/Funky Chicken. To learn more about this workshop, please visit Eventbrite.
Light refreshments and snacks will also be provided!
