The Wild Escape at Campbeltown Museum
The Culture Heritage and Arts Assembly, Argyll and Isles ( CHARTS), working in partnership with Live Argyll, is participating in The Wild Escape. The Wild Escape is a UK nationwide programme that is designed to boost families' engagement with museums and has been inspired by the most recent David Attenborough series on BBC One Wild Isles (available on iPlayer). Wild Isles celebrates the rich variety of habitats that exist on our doorstep, proving that wildlife in the British Isles is every bit as dramatic and spectacular as anywhere else on the planet!
CHARTS invites you to explore the wildlife of Kintyre and learn about the taxidermy collection at Campbeltown Museum to become inspired to be creative!
We have created downloadable and printable cards, a match-up Gaelic to English worksheet, links to wildlife poetry and a Gaelic wildlife name sheet which allow you to explore and learn about the taxidermy on display at Campbeltown Museum. Take a visit to Campbeltown Museum and see if you can find the animals on your cards, and tell us what animal you are most interested in!
The Wild Escape is made possible at Campbeltown Museum with lead support from CHARTS and Live Argyll, funding from the Arts Council England’s National Lottery Project Grants and additional support from Art Fund and a group of generous individuals and trusts.
