Following major refurbishment of our grade B listed building, Dunoon Burgh Hall re-opened in June 2017 as a community arts hub with museum standard gallery spaces, workshops, theatre with original stage and balcony, café and meeting rooms. The Burgh Hall engages our local community with a year-round programme of exhibitions celebrating national and international artists; live events; festivals; and productions which engage audiences in exciting, unexpected, challenging and innovative ways. Alongside our creative programme we run opportunities for children, young people, families and older people. We deliver workshops and residencies in dance, theatre, design, film and animation, visual arts and literature. Workshops to engage the whole community; classes to inspire the individual learner; an ambassador programme for young people; and arts and heritage activities with our local schools. We do all of this by working with freelance creatives and by working in partnership with a wide range of organisations. Underpinning all of this activity are our many volunteers, who support our work on all levels and help us to connect to our community.
