Àdhamh Ó Broin is a Gael of mixed Irish and Scottish Highland ancestry, brought up between mainland Argyll and Glasgow. Àdhamh has been involved in the arts his entire adult life as a Gaelic Consultant, Film Producer, Writer, MC and Multi-Instrumentalist Composer. He is a passionate Gaelic speaker, singer and tradition bearer. 

As Gaelic Culture Officer, Àdhamh is responsible for the strategic development of Gaelic cultural services for Argyll and Bute. This includes designing and supporting projects and award schemes and promoting the CHARTS network among Gaelic arts, heritage, and cultural communities. This role is designed to meet key cultural objectives aligned with the Argyll and Bute Gaelic Language Plan and the National Language Plan. This role is funded by Bòrd na Gàidhlig and supported by Argyll and Bute Council.

Born and brought up in north Argyll, Deirdre has over 20 years of experience as a culture producer and mediator, gained by devising and delivering programmes and partnerships in micro-local, regional and international contexts. Her passion is enabling people to gain insight into the intangible aspects of our lives, such as long-term change in language, identity and sense of place. Deirdre has led the curatorial programming for University of Dundee, Stills (Scotland’s Centre for Photography) and Cultural Documents and teaches for University of the Highlands and Islands.

Deirdre has been engaged with CHARTS since the inception of the SCIO and is also currently working as Engagement Manager for Coastal Cultures and International Manager for Growing Global Networks.

Kathleen has extensive national and international leadership experience, including arts, heritage museums and regeneration projects and is a Board member of Museums Galleries Scotland. Kathleen is a former member of the International Think Tank, Creative Scotland, is an alumni of the Byam Shaw School of Art and holds an MSc in Environment, Policy and Heritage, from the University of Stirling.

As Director, Kathleen has an overview to continually develop the impact of CHARTS.

Living in Campbeltown, Khara MacPhail has built practical experience in museums and heritage through working with the local community in various roles. In 2022, Khara completed her Museums and Galleries Technician Modern Apprenticeship obtained through the CHARTS Modern Apprenticeship scheme in partnership with liveArgyll, Museums Galleries Scotland and Skills Development Scotland. Khara is currently studying for an undergraduate degree in History and has always been interested in heritage.

Khara is based at Campbeltown Museum. Her role involves assisting visitors and planning and organising public engagement events and opportunities for everyone in the community to get involved in their heritage, along with researching the collection and developing new interpretation texts.

Kirsten Millar is an artist living and working on the West Coast of Scotland. Her artistic practice is centred around the industrial heritage of Argyll and perceptions of Scottish landscapes. Kirsten has a BA and MA in Contemporary Art Practice and SCQF level 6 in digital marketing obtained through the CHARTS Modern Apprenticeship scheme (2021-22). 

As Communications and Marketing Manager, Kirsten continually aims to raise the profile of CHARTS work managing digital and print media, website and socials, with close communications with all project managers and contributes to all evaluation processes. Kirsten works closely with CHARTS 500+ members of individuals and organisations across the arts and heritage sector to amplify their voices while managing day-to-day operations.

Originally from Kintyre and now living in Dunoon, Kirsty MacNab is an independent curator and freelance museum professional. Kirsty has worked in the fine art curatorial team at The McManus, Dundee, and in exhibition management at The University of Edinburgh. Kirsty is passionate about Scottish art, demystifying routes into the cultural sector, and accessible storytelling. Kirsty previously worked for CHARTS as the Project Manager (South Argyll) for the 2021-22 Heritage Horizons scheme. 

As Research Manager for Reconnected, Kirsty explores the Argyll Collection’s fascinating inventory, histories and stories, sharing these far and wide to help develop an understanding of the artists and artworks the collection contains, creating a modern-day legacy for the collection and people of Argyll.

Mary Morrison is a project manager and creative producer from the Isle of Harris who grew up in Scalpay. Mary has extensive experience in developing networks and delivering support to creative businesses and organisations in rural areas and has previously supported the Islands Team as the Consultation and Strategic Support.

Mary is a contemporary visual artist with an in-depth knowledge of Scotland’s creative sector. Mary has worked in the film industry as an animator, workshop leader and award-winning producer after an initial placement with Comataidh Craolaidh Gaidhlig. From 2009 to early 2023, Mary managed the Creative Arts Business Network, providing support to individuals and organisations and worked with a range of partners on the ground and at a strategic level to develop opportunities and longer-term support for the sector.

Additionally, Mary has an HNC in Tourism: Heritage and Environmental Interpretation from Lews Castle College, Stornoway, as part of a Community Enterprise initiative across the Highlands and Islands.

Muriel has an MLitt Scottish Heritage from the University of the Highlands and Islands and has extensive knowledge of Argyll culture and heritage.  Muriel's main focus in Heritage has been on intangible cultural heritage, particularly traditional music, people's lived experiences, folklore and stories. 

Since Muriel works with CHARTS on many projects across services, focusing on exercising infrastructure and enabling opportunities for heritage and young people.

Living in Colintraive, Ros has over 20 years of experience working in Museums, Galleries and Arts Education.  Following roles in Exhibition Programming and Learning and Access within York Museums Trust and Glasgow Museums, Ros now owns and runs Tighnabruaich Gallery, working with artists to showcase high-quality arts practice.  Ros is passionate about enabling creative and meaningful engagement in the arts and culture for all.  

As Project Manager Reconnected. Ros' role includes exploring the Argyll Collection and, alongside Kirsty, the wider CHARTS team and Argyll & Bute Council to develop collaborative, creative and exciting methods to share the Collection, raising awareness and building a keen sense of pride and ownership amongst the Argyll and Bute population.

Sarah Longfield is currently working to support the young people on placement. Sarah is a creative business coach, facilitator, arts consultant and creative producer.  She splits her time between supporting creative people to take action and developing interesting participatory arts projects across the cultural and heritage sectors. (Claire MacDade previously held this role).
