Tha Tòmas na neach-ealain agus na neach-rannsachaidh a tha an obair aige a’ toirt còmhla dà sheòrsa de sgrìobhadh litrichean: cultar àrsaidh nan làmh-sgrìobhainnean Gàidhealach agus graffiti an latha an-diugh. Agus e air oideachadh ann an sgrìobhadh graffiti agus mar sgoilear a’ sealltainn air làmh-sgrìobhainnean nan Eilean, bidh e a-mach air a’ cheangal eadar na ciùird seo, a’ rannsachadh am brìgh agus an eachdraidh chultarail. Mar phrìomh neach-ciùird air pròiseact Stories on Skins, bidh Tòmas a’ cruthachadh làmh-sgrìobhainnean dathte agus a’ co-obrachadh le sgoilearan Gàidhlig. Tha an obair aige a’ gabhail a-steach pròiseactan co-obrachaidh mar choimisean Leabhar Bhaile a’ Mhòta, stàladh airson Eco Creative Cluster le taic bho CHARTS, agus greis air mhuinntireas GUIR aig Glaschu Beò.

English

Thomas is an artist and researcher whose work bridges two distinct letter-writing traditions: the ancient Gaelic manuscript culture and contemporary graffiti. With a background as a trained graffiti writer and a scholar of Insular manuscripts, he explores the connections between these crafts, examining their cultural significance and evolution. As lead craftsman for the Stories on Skins project, Thomas creates illuminated manuscripts of Gaelic legends and collaborates with Gaelic scholars. His work includes collaborative projects like the Book of Ballymote commission, participatory installation with Eco Creative Cluster supported by CHARTS, and Glasgow Life GUIR residency.
