Gaelic

Tha obair Margie air a brosnachadh le dathan beothail agus cànan suaicheanta na Gàidhlig. Na cuid obrach gu tric tha dòighean marblachaidh le ola alkyd, òr agus foidhle gus pìosan innsgineach a chruthachadh. A’ rannsachadh helix na Gàidhlig, bidh i a’ glacadh mar a tha dathan gam faicinn ann an cultar nan Gàidheal. O chionn ghoirid, thòisich Margie air collage agus ealain dhidseatach, ag obair le AI gus briathran is cultar Gàidhlig a thoirt a-steach anns an obair chruthachail aice.

Aithris: “Shaoileadh tu gun robh Gàidhlig a’ cluich falach-fead anns na coimhearsnachdan againn; tha i ann ach ann riochd meallta. Ba mhath leam gum biodh i na b’ fhollaisiche agus gun nochdadh i air a’ bhlàr a-muigh.” – Margie Ramsay

English

Margie's work is inspired by the vibrant colours and unique language of Gaelic. Her work often combines marbling techniques with alkyd oils, gold, and foil to create dynamic pieces. Exploring the Gaelic colour helix, she captures how colours are perceived in Gaelic culture. Recently, Margie has ventured into collage and digital art, experimenting with AI to bring Gaelic words and culture into her creative process.

Gaelic seems to be playing hide and seek in our communities; it's there but in disguise. I'd like it to be more visible and come out and play.” - Margie Ramsay
