Survey for Makers of Traditional Crafts
Posted by Really Interesting Objects CIC
Do you make traditional craft? A new survey has been launched to research traditional crafts in Scotland today - who is making it & what is still being made - and to find out the views of makers on a possible new forum for Scottish traditional crafts.
Traditional and indigenous crafts are a living part of Scotland’s cultural heritage and a valuable part of Scotland's character and history. They represent skills and trades originally acquired and practised out of necessity and reflect locally available materials and resources.
If you make traditional crafts please visit https://www.scottishindigenouscraft.org/ and complete the survey. We want to hear from professional makers and people who practise part-time or as a hobby. It should take no more than 10 mins to complete the survey.
Also please pass on details about the survey to anyone you know, another maker or someone in your local community, who has traditional craft skills and knowledge.
This initiative updates previous research and is being carried out by Really Interesting Objects on behalf of Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland (TRACS), Creative Scotland, Craft Scotland and Museums Galleries Scotland.
