Storyteller for Outdoor Public Event | Story Wagon

Can you tell stories to the general public in a street setting? We are looking for storytellers to perform with us as part of our summer programme in Rothesay, isle of Bute this Summer.
You will work with us between 10am and 5pm on a busy Saturday in a town, to create a fun, inclusive space for creative expression for the passing public on the street.
No previous experience as a Street Artist is necessary. We are keen to give opportunities to people & performers who haven't worked in street settings before.
You'll be working from our popup storytelling and writing venue, Story Wagon, which acts as a stage and workshop area for the day.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with general public, encouraging them to join in our activities.
- Help set up and take-down Story Wagon.
- Perform 3 x 20 (ish) minute stories for the public, suitable for all ages.
- Help facilitate creative writing and story making activities (which we will teach you!)
Requirements:
- Comfortable working outside with the general public
- Confident telling stories to diverse crowds in street settings.
- Have minimum of 2 different 20 minute stories you can tell, suitable for all ages.
- Member of TRACS Storyteller database OR able to submit a video of you telling a 15 minute long story.
- PVG registered.
Payment is £280 + travel expenses.
Performance date: Saturday 8th June 2023, 10:00-17:00.
