This can be a Self-directed Residency (no tuition or materials provided) or it may be possible to arrange tuition or mentoring with one of the permanent resident artists for an additional fee. One, or exceptionally two, residency opportunities will be available at a time. There are currently 4 permanent resident artists based in Artspace Oban.
Important: there is no living accommodation provided, Guest Artists/Makers are responsible for making their own arrangements for living accommodation.
About Artspace Oban
Artspace Oban is an independently owned and run workspace for artists and makers. The premises are part of the ground floor of a mostly residential Victorian tenement on Oban’s busy Corran Esplanade. They consist of 3 studio spaces, with kitchen and toilet facilities and access to a communal garden and drying green which is shared by other residents in the building. The large studio at the front is shared by 3 – 4 artists and includes a small retail space. One smaller studio is equipped as a natural dying and botanical printing studio. Depending on the needs of the Guest Artist/Maker space will be provided either in the large studio or in the dye studio.
There is no deadline residency opportunities are offered on a on scrolling basis.
