Help Shape the Future of Civil Discourse in Arts and Culture

Rebecca Atkinson-Lord, Artistic Director and CEO of An Tobar and Mull Theatre, is conducting research into how rising political polarisation is impacting the arts and culture sector. With a focus on fostering inclusive and respectful dialogue, the project aims to identify practical tools and strategies that arts and culture organisations can use to create more open, welcoming spaces for discussion. Ultimately, the research will result in accessible resources that empower cultural leaders to address divisive issues constructively, strengthening resilience and inclusivity across the sector. This first-stage research survey is designed to gauge the level of impact of polarisation and ‘culture wars thinking’ across the sector and demonstrate the level of need for practical methodologies to address it.

It’s vital that the survey reaches as many arts and culture practitioners across the UK as possible to ensure it is as accurate as possible.
