Creative Connections Project Manager, Campbeltown Museum

Application Deadline: 5pm, 13th June, 2025
Fee: £200 per day
Duration: 55 days (Commencing July/August 2025– to be carried out across 18 months)
Location: Campbeltown, Argyll and Bute, Scotland

 

CHARTS invites applications from experienced and enthusiastic project managers to lead the delivery of Creative Connections, an innovative heritage project developed in partnership with Live Argyll and the Kintyre Link Club, with support from Museums Galleries Scotland’s Creative Minds Fund. This freelance opportunity is based primarily in Campbeltown, with some travel across Argyll and Bute.

Creative Connections will co-curate a new exhibition at Campbeltown Museum in collaboration with participants from the Kintyre Link Club, building access to the museum and the significant Argyll Collection for people experiencing mental health challenges. This project will develop new curatorial learning models and public engagement tools rooted in heritage and well-being.

 

Summary of the Role

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Lead the design and delivery of Creative Connections in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Work directly with vulnerable adults, facilitating a supportive, flexible approach to participation and engagement.
  • Guide the co-design of an exhibition with Link Club participants using the Argyll Collection.
  • Coordinate outreach workshops, museum visits, training opportunities, evaluation, and dissemination.
  • Collaborate closely with CHARTS, Live Argyll staff, and Campbeltown Museum.

 

Who We're Looking For:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Graduate or postgraduate qualification in museums/heritage or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults and/or people with mental health challenges.
  • Exhibition curation and public engagement experience.
  • Knowledge of Argyll and Bute and understanding of the Argyll Collection.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to work both independently and in collaboration.
  • PVG clearance (or willingness to obtain – costs covered by CHARTS).
  • Experience using digital tools and virtual meeting platforms.
