Call for Artists (Music, Story, Film & More)

A Creative Scotland-funded arts project is seeking creative artists across different mediums to exhibit their work in front of an audience as part of an arts event at The Rockfield Centre, Oban.

We are seeking applications from artists across a variety of mediums, whose work blends Gaelic culture and/or language with landscape and environmental issues, to showcase their work in front of an audience in Oban on Saturday October 3rd 2026.

We would welcome applications from artists whose work involves elements such as music, poetry, storytelling, film, visual arts and more. Themes for the evening will include Gaelic language, culture and history of the Gàidhealtachd or wider Highlands & Islands area, connection to landscape, nature and climate change.

We would particularly welcome those whose work involves, or could involve, unconventional or participative performance, or blended art forms. Delivery in Gaelic is also welcomed (but not essential), as long as the art is accessible for English-speakers.

Each artist will be given a slot of between 15 and 30 minutes. The fee for the evening is £200.

This event is funded by Creative Scotland and is held in partnership with Tobar an Dualchais and CHARTS Argyll & Isles.
