Creative Connections Project Artist, Campbeltown Museum

Deadline: 5pm, 17th November, 2025

Fee: £350 per day

Duration: 15 days (Jan-July 2026)

Location: Campbeltown Museum and Kintyre Link Club

Open to artists based anywhere in Scotland, travel and sustenance can be discussed as appropriate.

 

CHARTS, in partnership with liveArgyll, is seeking a Project Artist to guide workshop provision at Campbeltown Museum for the project Creative Connections. The successful applicant must have experience working with vulnerable people, including adults facing mental health challenges, as well as experience in museum and gallery contexts. 

The main purpose of Creative Connections is to create access to Campbeltown Museum for the Kintyre Link Club through fresh understanding and response to The Argyll Collection and prominent artworks within the Campbeltown Museum collection. The Artist will work collaboratively with the Creative Connections Project Manager, project participants from Kintyre Link Club, Campbeltown Museum, and other CHARTS staff to plan, develop, and deliver creative workshops aligned with The Argyll Collection and Campbeltown Museum Collections.

 

Summary of the Role

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Co-design and deliver workshops for Kintyre Link Club participants to explore and respond to the Museum collection, enabling participants to create their own artwork.  
  • Contribute to an exhibition and new interpretation of artworks within the Argyll and Campbeltown collections, to include both objects from the collection as well as participants’ artworks.
  • Work closely with the project team and participants to agree a flexible working programme.
  • Participate in the co-evaluation of the project. 
  • Participate in associated exhibition/showcase events as appropriate.

 

Who We're Looking For:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Degree-level education in fine art or relevant experience. 
  • Experience of working with vulnerable people, including adults facing mental health challenges.
  • Experience of working with museum and/or gallery collections.
  • Experience in co-planning and developing workshops with multiple stakeholders.
  • Calm and methodical approach to work.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Pro-active attitude to learning and cultural development.
  • An ability to recognise potential issues and consider when to seek advice.
  • Helpful and flexible.
  • Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours.
