TIDES is an online music festival livestreamed on 27 March 2021 and is a partnership between Live Argyll, Dunoon Burgh Hall and CHARTS, funded by Creative Scotland. We made 11 awards to independent musicians and groups. Here's a few words the festival from Producer Iain Maclean, who worked tirelessly to make this event not only one to remember, but something we might be able to repeat in future years:
I've worked for years in live music and it's important to me to recreate as much of the live experience as possible during the TIDES festival.
One of the ways we're going to do that is to give a sense of place for the music, focusing it from Dunoon Burgh Hall in a way that reflects the very best of Argyll.
The festival is going to have a broad mix of music, using the backdrop of the historic Dunoon Burgh Hall split into three distinct ‘virtual stages’. Our ‘main hall’ stage, with its stunning stained glass window, will host the larger setups of Heron Valley, Jack Ruby 5, Inverhooley Ceilidh Band and The Camans. Solo acts like Mairi McGillivary, Abigail Pryde, and Seylan Baxter will be filmed performing in the foyer of the halls next to the stunning Robert Stewart Ceramic mural. The Gallery area will stage digital submissions, presenting artwork in an appropriate context.
The festival is now available to watch on demand here https://myplayer.uk/tides
