Rebecca Mackenzie

Individual

Rebecca is a novelist, performer and teacher of Action Theaterâ„¢ and improvisation. Her debut novel In a Land of Paper Gods, was a Red Magazine Book of the Year and was shortlisted for the Royal Society of Literature Ondaatje Prize. She has performed site specific ensemble pieces and improvised solos since 2008. Most recently she developed COLLIDER, a performance project with composer Reynaldo Young and CERN physicist Jaime Morgan, which was recently staged as part of the Siobhan Davies OCPE platform. Rebecca is a certified teacher of Action Theaterâ„¢ and teaches improvisation at leading dance institutions in the UK and Europe, including Independent Dance, The Place (London Contemporary Dance School)) and Chisenhale Dance. She is currently studying for a PhD at the University of Glasgow.
