'In this exhibition, I'm using three known and still functioning alphabets - Greek, Tibetan and Roman - to create signs that are familiar but also uncertain, and occasionally forming visual narratives, but more importantly creating typographical figures or shapes that can be read and interpreted freely by the reader/viewer after their initial impact. The physicality of the poem is important. Everything hits the eye, the senses, then slowly filters through to the language centres.' Stephen Nelson
