Thick skin, Elastic Heart

SONNET YOUTH AND COMPANY MANY In association with Platform and Dumfries Theatre Royal presents: thick skin, elastic heart
thick skin, elastic heart is an exciting collection of contemporary spoken word monologues and group poems giving voice to a generation who are often reduced to a sound-bite by mass media: ineffectual, lazy, oversensitive “snow-flakes”. This hybrid poetic theatre production encapsulates what it means to be a Millenial (18-34) living in modern Britain.
The piece plays like a frenzied scroll through a social media feed – with seemingly disconnected pieces running into one another at speed, woven together with athletic physical delivery. It showcases a kaleidoscope of voices from throughout the UK, tackling a myriad of topics and truly capturing the zeitgeist.
Performed by the punchy and diverse cast of Cameron Fulton, Danielle Jam, Robert Elkin and Charlotte Driessler.
Written and directed by Drew Taylor-Wilson
