The Drawing Box A5 Pop-Up Show

International Exhibition of drawings
In Dunoon Burgh Hall’s first exhibition of 2022, the Drawing Box brings artworks from over 90 international artists to Scotland.
The Drawing Box is an international initiative of autonomous artists, started by Diane Henshaw from Northern Ireland. A box of A5 drawings travels around the world – already having visited Ireland, Cyprus, France, New Mexico, Greece, and the Netherlands. After stopping in Scotland, the box will travel on to Lithuania, India and Australia.
The idea for the exhibition was born in lockdown, during the Covid pandemic. The box of drawings travels where artists are unable to – creating connections, new conversations and continuing the practise of art, both making and exhibiting. The initiative is coordinated online, from a Facebook group where artists consult and exchange ideas. Drawings encompass a wide range of different approaches, mediums and styles – from figurative to abstract and various places in between.
The Drawing Box is international in character, constantly renewing as new members are added. Creating new conversations, ideas, work, audiences, and responses as it travels.
