ADVANCE BOOKING AND PAYMENT ARE NEEDED FOR BOAT TRIPS AND EVENING MEALS, ALL OTHER EVENTS ARE TURN UP AND PAY AT THE DOORWe are holding a Rock, Paper, Chisels, weekend Festival to celebrate Luing's slate quarrying history past and present, from Friday Sept 20th to Sunday Sept 22nd 2024. Its being organised by Luing History Group and parent the Isle of Luing Commujnity Trust, with funding from Historic Environment Scotland and Scotland Book Trust's Live Literature.
There will be walks, talks and visits, and boat trips around Luing, craft workshops, talks on archaeological discoveries and explorations, stories by award winning Scottish writer James Robertson and songs and music from local musicaions on saturday night. Plus 'Taste of Luing' food from sea and land in the Atlantic Islands Centre - great home-baking during the day, special Festival meals in the evenings.
