Join CHARTS and Ceanglan Chaluim Chille Artist in Residence Eòghann Mac Colla for a zine-making workshop at Campbeltown Museum.

This workshop will be led by CHARTS' Ceanglan Chaluim Chille Artist in Residence, Eòghann MacColl, who will be based at Campbeltown Museum for a Gaelic artist residency from Wednesday 19 August to Friday 21 August 2026.

This is a great opportunity to explore zine-making with Eòghann while learning about his creative practice and Gaelic culture during his residency in Campbeltown.

Can you make an onomastic* map personal or local to you? The place names map onto each other identically, preserving a shared vocabulary on the literal earth we walk or sea we traverse. Place names are embedded, and our own names travel with us, telling our own stories and sharing our background.

In the workshop, Eòghann will encourage and support you in creating a zine** using drawing, photography, collage, and print. Please bring images or texts you would like to use or be inspired by Eòghann’s practice, which is focuses on the deep and complex human time on Kintyre.

*Onomastic, meaning the study of names and their history and origins

**A small self-published booklet produced independently, where you have total editorial freedom of expression. Zine is short for fanzine or magazine, a place to explore highly specialised niche or unconventional topics as you see fit.
