Inspired by you: the commuters, holiday makers, passengers, workers, ferry users.

National Theatre of Scotland is creating a piece of theatre called Ferry Tales that will be performed on selected ferries in April 2020 and they need your help…

Ferry Tales celebrates the waters surrounding Scotland’s western islands and the journeys across them made by thousands of residents, workers and tourists each year.

NTS need the help of the local communities around three major ferry routes.  Wemyss Bay – Rothesay, Ullapool – Stornoway and Oban – Craignure.

How To Get Involved

There are two ways you can get involved:

1. Share your stories

NTS would like to collect your experiences and stories about ferry travel, from the strange to the wonderful to help inspire short, pop-up, on-board live performances.
To do this, there is a quick online form you can fill out here.

2. Community Performances

Perhaps you are in a local choir, part of a local band, society or club? NTS are looking for people to get involved in our community performances welcoming people as they disembark from the ferries on to the islands. Come along to the info sessions to find out more.

If you have any further questions about Ferry Tales or the Info sessions please email ferrytales@nationaltheatrescotland.com

Ferry Tales is supported by Event Scotland’s Year of Coasts and Waters Events Fund with the support of Caledonian MacBrayne & their ferries.
