Intermediate Crochet LIVE | Amigurumi Duck
Posted by Helensburgh Art Hub
Amigurumi. From the words “Ami” meaning crochet, and “nuigurumi” meaning stuffed doll, Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting miniature creatures. The duck we'll make is just 2” tall, so not the tiniest we could go, but a good scale to start your Amigurumi adventure. It’s a technique that requires patience, concentration and a love of all things fiddly.
This class is an introduction to this intricate craft and will take place over 2 weeks.
Week 1 - Beak, wings, feet & head!
Week 2 - Body and finishing off
The workshops takes place online so you will need to have internet access and the materials listed below to hand. You should also have a basic grasp of the basic crochet stitches (US terms).
What you'll need to craft along. . .
the pattern (this will be emailed before the workshop)
double knit yarn in blue, white, brown & yellow (or similar colours)
a 3.0mm crochet hook
a stitch marker
