On Saturday 29 October Hermitage Park will throw open its gates for some seriously spooky, fun-packed Halloween-themed activities to celebrate the completion of their redevelopment for all the community to enjoy. Spook-tacular free activities will range from: Pumpkin decorating for The Hermitage Pumpkin Patch; Pumpkin Bowling; A fang-tastic Halloween Parade (dress up for a prize!); Haunted house bug hotel & spooky vegetable sculpture workshops; Paint your own Halloween plant pot sessions; Fishing for apples; A chance to make your own spider web out of sticks and string to A Pumpkin Trail; The Great Hermitage Halloween Bake Off; A firepit in The Community Garden; Spooky Face painting and games like Walk the (spider) Web, Pumpkin Bowling and pin the BOO on the Ghost ...and much more fun.

The Hermitage Pumpkin Patch will be a confection of colour created by the community. Any of the pumpkins left on The Hermitage Pumpkin Patch for the week following Halloween will become food waste and broken down and used in the community garden to nurture plants there.

There will be a range of prizes awarded for those who choose to dress up in fang-tastic costumes for the Hermitage Halloween Parade, and local amateur bakers are encouraged to make their showstopper Halloween cakes and biscuits to enter into the (what will become world-famous) Great Hermitage Bake Off and win the coveted crown!

The children from Hermitage Primary School are daily visitors to the park and regularly get their hands dirty in the Community Garden as they learn to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh,

seasonal, delicious food. They have worked hard to contribute to the I ❤️ Hermitage Tree, a beautiful celebration of their appreciation and love of the park for everyone to enjoy. There will be delicious food from Jamie and the team at The Park Pavilion Cafe, and coffee and teas available from The Pavilion Kiosk. If the weather is kind, there will be a chance to mill around on the lawn and get some selfies taken with a seasonal pumpkin backdrop.
