A new contemporary art exhibition in exploration of crossing continents, arriving in a new place and the moments of joy and of deep fatigue that a 21st century nomadic lifestyle can bring.
Following on from exhibitions in Senegal’s National Gallery of the Arts in Dakar and the Yaounde RAVY Biennale in Cameroon, this is Siregar’s first exhibition in Scotland, where she is now resident: a ‘new Scot’.
Siregar’s work includes a combination of found objects, video pieces, sketches, installation work, photography and performance art based on ancient ritual from her birthplace in North Sumatra, Indonesia.
Siregar brings her unique practice to the recently launched temporary arts space, The Bank of Ideas, in Rothesay on the Isle of Bute.
