Glenbarr Doocot: Next Steps Together

Following the success of our February event The Doocot Diaries: The Glenbarr Chapter, we invite community members, heritage enthusiasts, and anyone with an interest in conservation, storytelling, or placemaking to join us for the next stage of the Glenbarr Doocot project.

Glenbarr Doocot: Next Steps Together is a collaborative community event hosted by the Scottish Historic Buildings Trust (SHBT) and Glenbarr Community Development Association (GCDA), aimed at sharing key findings from the recent feasibility and condition study of the C-listed 18th-century doocot, located within the Glenbarr woodland.

This event will:
• Present urgent stabilisation recommendations and proposed next steps
• Offer early concepts for potential community uses of the structure and surrounding space
• Open a space for public input, discussion, and creative thinking

Whether you’re a returning participant or new to the project, your presence and input are invaluable. We are keen to explore how Glenbarr’s doocot can become a meaningful, sustainable feature of the community—serving educational, cultural, ecological or artistic purposes.

Attendees will have the chance to hear directly from conservation specialists and take part in shaping what comes next. Refreshments will be provided, and all are welcome.
