Forgotten Fleece Tales
Posted by Sarah Rosenthal-Almirall
Forgotten Fleece Tales is a Touring Exhibition of Scottish Textile Art, a collaboration between Ardbeag Crafts and Creation Mill CIC.
This is a unique and innovative touring exhibition which will showcase the work of 10-15 artists and crafters focusing on the value and versatility of waste fleece and mill waste.
Combining craft and storytelling, the project will be a celebration of Scotland's textile heritage and a mission to raise awareness about the inherent value of Scottish wool which has become an underappreciated and undervalued resource.
Launching at Creation Mill in Langholm in June 2025, this exhibition will tour various locations across Scotland bringing together artists, farmers, storytellers and local communities in a shared effort to elevate Scottish fleece as a sustainable and naturally beautiful material.
If you are an artist who would like to participate or an exhibition venue which would like to host us please write to forgottenfleecetales@gmail.com for more information and an application form. Application deadline is 1st January 2025 and artists may submit more than one piece.
