Carbon Literacy for Argyll & Bute

Free Certified Climate Change Training for those living in Argyll & Bute. Delivered and facilitated by local residents.
This Carbon Literacy Training course covers the following core subjects:
- The science behind climate change and the impacts of climate change in A&B.
- Social equity relating to climate change in A&B.
- What you can do to act on climate change and become more resilient living on Scotland's West Coast.
- Strategies and skills for communicating action on climate change.
- New!- Climate vulnerability and resilience
This training takes place over two 3.5 hour sessions.
Session 1 09.30-13.00 25th June 2025
Session 2 09.30-13.00 26th June 2025
Please note that attendance at both 3.5 hour sessions is required to complete the Carbon Literacy Assessment.
Following successful completion of the training, and short assessment, you are awarded a Carbon Literacy Certificate. This training can form part of your workplace CPD.
This training is suitable for everyone based in Argyll and Bute. No prior knowledge of climate change is required.
The Argyll and Bute Climate Action Network (ABCAN) is funded by the Scottish Government to support Argyll and Bute residents to face the challenge of climate change. This training delivery is part of a wider package of support, including provision of seed funding, climate cafes, community support and engagement, and networking, to support Argyll and Bute community led climate action.
