Beginners Crochet LIVE | Strawberry Bookmarks
Posted by Helensburgh Art Hub
It's strawberry season but these ones are not for nibbling, although they do look good enough to eat! These strawberry bookmarks are a delicious small project which introduces some of the basic stitches, crochet in the round and shaping.
This workshop takes place online so you will need to have internet access and the materials listed below to hand. It's suitable for beginners, anyone who just needs a wee reminder of how it’s done, or you just fancy some social crochet.
What you'll need to craft along. . .
the pattern (this will be emailed before the workshop)
4ply or a fine double knit yarn in red and green
a 2.5mm crochet hook
stranded cotton or fine yarn to embroider seeds in yellow
a little toy filling, cotton wool or yarn scraps
a big eye needle
Optional extra. . .
If you are local (Helensburgh, Cardross, Garelochhead or on the Rosneath peninsula) we can provide a kit with everything you'll need to complete this project. It will include the yarns, a 2.5mm crochet hook, toy filling and a big eye needle.
Kits are £5.00 and will be delivered to your doorstep ahead of the workshop. Send us a pm via facebook with your address details by the Wednesday before the workshop date. Payment is by bank transfer.
Taking this workshop is Sharon Goodwin from Sew Silly Lily, a graduate of Glasgow School of Art with a lifelong passion for textiles, craft and design.
