Join Cupar Arts, Fife African Caribbean Network, and Culture Heritage and Arts Assembly, Argyll and Isles (CHARTS) for a pop-up exhibition and open day with the African artworks from The Argyll Collection. Explore modern artworks from Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Kenya and South Africa, bought in the 1960s and 1970s for the children of Argyll. Today, these artworks are part of the Argyll Collection, a pioneering local authority educational art collection owned by Argyll and Bute Council and managed by CHARTS, with support from Creative Scotland.

For Black History Month Scotland, this cluster is in Fife, will provide the opportunity to get up close with internationally significant artworks by artists like Jak Katarikawe (Uganda), Henry Tayali (Zambia) and Lucky Sibiya (South Africa). Learn about Tingatinga paintings, Ugandan prints from the era of independence, art inspired by the “Zulu Macbeth,” and much more! There will also be hands-on activities for all ages and creative fun led by the poet, Tawona Sitholé. We will even have light snacks courtesy of Nemels Kitchen!

This event is free and open to all ages.
