I’m an Oban-based photographer, filmmaker and ethnographic researcher currently undertaking a PhD in Social Anthropology with Visual Media at the University of Manchester. I use lens-based and photographic media to explore how humans relate to the ecosystems in which they live, with a particular focus on rural coastal areas (Himi, Toyama Prefecture, Japan; Oban, Argyll, Scotland) and food production (fisheries, seaweed cultivation). I’ve lived and worked in rural Japan and in Malaysia.
