Bookends is a week long festival held in The Reading Room at The Victory Hall, Benderloch during the last week in September. The Reading Room is lined with tall bookshelves, crammed with pre-loved books and filled with comfortable armchairs and sumptuous sofas. We added a week long fring to Bookends in 2017 allowing the space to be used by creative people to share their spoken and written words. We are a friendly festival and love to share the space we have created with everyone from our community and beyond. As well as visiting authors, poets and storytellers we provide a safe, warm space simply to relax in surrounded by books and like-minded people. We hold regular pop-ups, daily openings here in The Reading Room and at other halls in North Lorn where nursery and school children can gather with their teachers during the day and return with parents and grandparents after school. Pop ups are open to the community after school hours for everyone to enjoy.
