Hello I was accepted for Glasgow School of art but on tossing a coin, went to Dunfermline college to study dance and movement while continuing with my painting and drawing and in 1995 came together with painter Don McNeil to develop my style and to set up Fyne Studios/the Hidden Gallery.
I prefer to be known as a painter rather than an artist as I like to be part of the landscape influenced by the colours, tones, movement and textures. I enjoy creating a sense of urgency in my work and often use the canvas as my palette - this allows me to paint bold gestural strokes either with a brush or a painting knife, often on top of colour which has been thrown at the canvas bringing a unity to the painting.
