Teangan Earra-Ghàidheal / Scottish Gaelic Simultaneous Translation

Tha Teangan Earra-Ghàidheal na thionnsgnadh ùr eadar CHARTS, Comhairlean-coimhearsnachd Mhuile is Thiriodh agus Com-pàirteachas Gàidhlig Mhuile is Ì Chaluim Chille. Cumaidh am pròiseact eadar-theangachadh mar-aon bho Bheurla gu Gàidhlig aig coinneamhan tro chlàr air leth air Zoom. Mar thionnsgnadh ùr, is iad na prìomh amasan cuideachadh is taic a thoirt dhan fheadhainn le Gàidhlig, cuideachadh ri luchd-ionnsachaidh agus an cànan a chur ann suidheachadh buntainneach mu chleachdadh làitheil.

Tha com-pàirtichean a’ phròiseict a’ fastadh sgioba eadar-theangairean an-dràsta. Faicibh fiosrachadh agus ceangal gu h-ìseal.

Cumaidh eadar-theangairean taic ri luchd-stiùiridh choinneamhan, far a bheil luchd-labhairt agus luchd-ionnsachaidh Gàidhlig agus daoine eile, a’ fuireach ann an Sgìrean Chomhairlean-coimhearsnachd Earra-Ghàidheal is Bhòid anns an Òban, ann an Latharna is sna h-Eileanan agus Meadhan Earra-Ghàidheal, Cinn Tìre agus na h-Eileanan. Cuiridh am pròiseact fàilte cuideachd air com-pàirteachadh el sgìrean eile ann an Earra-Ghàidheal is Bòd, agus thèid beachd a ghabhail air seo a rèir an t-suidheachaidh. Tha Teangan Earra-Ghàidheal ga mhaoineachadh le Urras Taic Choimhearsnachdan Chomhairle Earra-Ghàidheal is Bhòid (2021 gu 2022) agus thathar den bheachd gu bheil e air aon den chiad fheadhainn de phròiseactan den t-seòrsa ann an Alba.

Mar a thèid am pròiseact air adhart, thèid sgioba nan eadar-theangairean a chur air adhart barrachd air an duilleig shònraichte seo gus am pròiseact a thaisbeanadh agus thairis air lìonra nan com-pàirtichean, gus cleachdadh na Gàidhlig a bhrosnachadh air feadh Earra-Ghàidheal.

Thèid an duilleag-fhiosrachaidh seo ùrachadh gu cunbhalach – feuch an cùm thu do shùil oirre!

Teangan Earra-Ghàidheal, is a pioneering project between CHARTS, Mull and Tiree Community Councils and the Mull and Iona Gaelic Partnership. The project will facilitate simultaneous English to Gaelic meeting translation via a dedicated Zoom platform. As a pilot project the key aims are to reach out and support those with Gaelic, assist learners and help to position the language as relevant for everyday use.

Project partners are currently recruiting for a pool of translators. Please see information and link below.

Translators will support meeting hosts, Gaelic learners and others, living across the Argyll and Bute Community Council Areas of Oban, Lorne and the Isles and Mid-Argyll, Kintyre and the Isles. The project will also welcome inclusion from other areas of Argyll and Bute, and this will be considered on a case-to-case basis. Teangan Earra-Ghàidheal is funded by Argyll and Bute Council Supporting Communities Fund (2021-2022) and is believed to be amongst the first project of its type in Scotland.

As the project develops, the pool of translators will be further promoted on this dedicated project showcase page and across partner networks, to encourage use of the Gaelic language across Argyll.

This information page will be regularly updated – watch this space!
