“Bha e math fhèin taisbeanadh is cruinneachadh cho mìorbhaileach a bhith ann air Latha Chaluim Chille, ann an Eilean Idhe. Taing dhan na h-uile a bha an sàs ann.” Pàdraig Beag, Manaidsear Phrògraman Abaid Coimhearsnachd Ì Chaluim Chille
“Nuair a bha mi air chuairt ann an Eilean àlainn Idhe, thadhail mi air taisbeanadh Chaluim Chille ann an talla dòigheil a’ bhaile. Bha an taisbeanadh, a chaidh a thoirt le luchd-foghlaim, luchd-seanchais agus luchd-ciùil, air leth tarraingeach. Agus timcheall orra dusan de dhealbhan drùidhteach a-mach air sgeul annasach Chaluim Chille, fhuair an luchd-frithealaidh eachdraidh shaidhbhir tro òrain, sgeulachdan, dealbhan agus òraidean, agus biadh blasta fhèin sa mheadhan. Fhuair mi fàilte mhòr an làthair aig an tachartas seo agus an seòmar làn dhaoine às a h-uile ceàrn den t-saoghal – a’ tighinn bho iomadh suidheachadh, cultar agus creideamh – a’ tighinn còmhla gus eòlas a chur air mìrean ùra den eachdraidh a dh’fhàg buaidh nach bu bheag air an t-saoghal sa bheil sinn beò còmhla an-diugh." “It was great to have such a wonderful exhibition and gathering on St Columba’s feast day, on Iona. Thanks to all involved.” Patrick Small, Iona Community Abbey Programme Manager
“Whilst visiting the breathtaking Isle of Iona, I attended the Saint Columba exhibit on view in the beautiful village hall. The presentation, given by a panel of scholars, storytellers/singers and traditional music, was particularly engaging. Flanked by the twelve impressive canvases depicting the dramatic story of Saint Columba, the full hall of attendees were treated to a rich and colourful history through song, stories, slides and lectures, plus a delectable buffet offered during the pause. I felt very welcome attending this event which filled the room with people from all over the world - representing many different backgrounds, cultures and beliefs - coming together to experience and learn new pieces of history that played a significant part in the world we share and live in today."
