Celebrating Gaelic in Argyll // A’ Comharrachadh na Gàidhlig ann an Earra-Ghàidheal 2022

CELEBRATING GAELIC IN ARGYLL 2022

To celebrate Seachdain na Gàidhlig / World Gaelic Week, 21-27 March 2022, CHARTS created a digital arts resource pack for Primary and Secondary School pupils in partnership with Gaelic Community Development, Argyll & Bute Council. The pack helped to promote Gaelic language, poetry and storytelling and was supported by Heritage Horizons, a CHARTS project in partnership with the Argyll & Bute Museum and Heritage Forum, which aimed to increase access to Gaelic for young people.

Work produced by pupils was displayed during the celebration of Seachdain na Gàidhlig/World Gaelic Week and was showcased at TURAS held at Hermitage Park, Helensburgh, on 24 March 2022.

Digital resource packs created for this project are still available as learning resources:

Primary School Pack English / Gaelic

High School Pack English / Gaelic

Thanks to all that took part.

CELEBRATING GAELIC IN ARGYLL SHOWCASE

We would like to thank the schools that took part in our Primary School Gaelic competition and are proud to share with you the work from Bowmore Primary, Rockfield Primary and Bunessan Primary. We hope you enjoy looking through the incredible work created!

“Bu mhath leam taing mhòr a thoirt do gach sgoilear agus tidsear a bha an sàs san fharpais seo. Abair dealbhan àlainn! Tha e air leth cudromach gun toir sinn cùram don àrainneachd phrìseil a tha againn ann an Earra-Ghàidheal agus gu bheil a’ Ghàidhlig aig cridhe na h-àrainneachd sin; agus gu dearbha 's e sin na rinn sibh sna dealbhan seo. Taing mhòr dhuibh uile.” - Alasdair Whyte
