Confined Spaces – a Lockdown Art Project
Posted by Rhona Taylor
Confined Spaces was originally an exhibition of installations in the cells of a former prison in Campbeltown, Argyll, in 2016.
Now we are launching a project looking at the work that artists are planning, making or developing while in confinement during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Initially work will be collated, and some of it posted online and on social media, with a view to a more substantial exhibition or other output as the situation changes and projects develop.
We are open to work and projects of all types and media, from anywhere in the world. We are interested in the process of artists facing huge challenges but thinking and working differently, and are particularly keen that the project develops and evolves, so we are not necessarily looking for images of finished work.
Initially we ask that you register your interest (and say hello!) by emailing Rhona at contactconfinedspaces@gmail.com – and follow / tag us on social media (Twitter: @spaces_confined / Instagram: @spacesconfined / Facebook: @spacesconfined / #confinedspaces)
