Call for Volunteer VOICES: The Hebridean Story
Posted by CHARTS
Scottish Council on Archives are about to start a pilot project aimed at collecting stories of people’s experiences of the Covid pandemic, VOICES: The Hebridean Story. The aim is to start with people living in the Hebrides, and we hope to extend the project to other areas of Scotland in the future. We are keen to hear from people of all ages and backgrounds including people and communities whose stories are often forgotten or overlooked. The Project will be highlighted on the SCA community engagement section of our website and the recordings stored in the Tasglann nan Eilean (Hebridean Archives) - our main project partner.
SCA would like to record the conversations in July 2021. These will be short and informal and can be done remotely or in person. The interviews will be conducted principally by a Robertson Trust intern who will receive training from the National Library of Scotland’s Scotland’s Sounds and from Our Story Scotland.
If you are able to help either by volunteering yourself, or to put me in touch with anyone else that might be willing, that would be really helpful - please email Audrey Wilson, Community Engagement, Scottish Council on Archives.
