BFI Film Academy | Screen Argyll

Screen Argyll will be bringing the  BFI Film Academy  to 16 - 19 year olds to Argyll and the Highlands and Islands. BFI Film Academy is a great opportunity for creative teens or those curious about in a career in the film industry, during this professional online course they will work together to watch, experiment, create and learn more about animation and film in a variety of forms. 

 

This intensive online course includes:

  • Hands-on filmmaking workshops where participants will be given the tools needed to develop an idea from rough sketch to big screen
  • An opportunity to work with professional animators and film makers (including Jim Parkyn from Aardman Animation)
  • Skills covered include script writing / model making / animation / video editing / lighting / sound design
  • Create their own animations and present these at an online screening event which they create and coordinate 
  • Industry sessions with animators, producers and festival directors
  • Support to build a digital portfolio and gain an Arts Award qualification which they can include in their CVs and personal statements 
  • The opportunity to submit their film into a variety of festivals

 

Course Schedule:

Half day industry session, Saturday 8 October      

Intensive course, 15 to 22 October             

Individual tutorials and Arts Award Support, October / November          

Arts Award submitted, Monday 12  December     

 

This course costs £25, Screen Argyll have bursaries available to cover this if it is inhibitive to any students who want to take part, as well as support to cover access to internet etc.
