Having lived and worked in Argyll most of my adult life, much of it in the current tranquil rural setting I call home, I am returning to my early career specialism in art and design.
Current practice includes painting, drawing and metalwork in sculptural form. Expressive themes are drawn from my experience, sense of self in time, place and relationship.
Much of my work is centred around the resonance of animal presence, the human and animal relationship, and through a range of other abstract and figuratively executed themes aims to express breadth of feeling.
Commissions can be considered.
Committed also to supporting approaches to mental health and wellbeing, I continue to work on a self-employed basis as well as undertake volunteer work. Understanding the potential of the arts to harness positive experience in a wide variety of ways for visitors and residents of Argyll alike, I am also currently exploring ideas around a sensitive and appropriate future use of my land for arts projects, performances and exhibitions and I am open to exploring ideas with others for collaborative or independent projects.
