Our Museum encourages visitors to discover the history of Dunoon and Cowal from Neolithic settlers, through Highland clan battles, Victorian expansion, and the Clyde steamers in their heyday to both World Wars and the Cold War. It immerses the visitor's senses in historical reconstructions, interactive exhibits, and extensive photo archive and a cornucopia of original memorabilia. Our friendly staff and volunteers love to share memories and local knowledge with visitors and researchers alike.
We are an independent museum and are open Easter - October each year Mon - Sat 10am - 4pm. Our closing date 2018 is 20th October.
