On the Feast Day of St Columa, 9th June, 1.00pm to 3.00pm, to mark the arrival of Cuairt Chaluim Chille // Touring St Columba Tour, CHARTS will host an atmospheric multilingual event, Cuairt Ì Chaluim Chille / St Columba Travels to Iona, at Iona Village Hall. 

Cuairt Ì Chaluim Chille / St Columba Travels to Iona will feature visual arts from CHARTS Colmcille Awards 2020-22, a welcome from CHARTS Oifigear Cultair Ghàidhlig Àdhamh Ó Broin, musical performances and talks from Gaelic tradition bearers.

Performances and talks included:

Music, song, story and Iona lore from Alasdair Whyte 

Recent research into Honouring Columcille, the Book of Kells  and Iona, presented by Dr Rosemary Power 

Argyll lore and song from Àdhamh Ó Broin

Performance from Irish harpist Janet Harbison

Cuairt Chaluim Chille // Touring St Columba will be on display at Iona Village Hall on June 8th 10.00am to 3.00pm and 9th 10.00am to 1.00pm. A celebration event will take place on 9th June 1.00pm to 3.00pm, This event is free and open to the public, but please register as capacity is limited.

Cuairt Chaluim Chille // Touring St Columba is hosted by CHARTS, supported by Argyll and Bute Council. This bold project partnership between Argyll and Ireland is made possible with joint support from Bòrd na Gàidhlig and Foras na Gaeilge to build from relationships grown during the themed year Colmcille 1500.  A special thanks to the support of Donegal County Museum and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
